Our Facility

Eagles Nest at Platte Valley is furnished in a style reflective of the 1940's and is decorated with aviation memorabilia and artifacts from WW-I, WW-II and early general aviation history. The home environment is further enhanced with activity areas designed to entertain.

We have a comfortable library housing an extensive collection of aviation books and publications to be enjoyed by all. Many of our guests enjoy the books while listening to the big-band period music that we play in the background.

We also feature a game room adjoining the central living area which offers several computer flight simulators where you can refresh those flying skills with a variety of aircraft ranging from WW-I to commercial airlines. Of course, your guests can also enjoy various other activities such as aviation puzzles, card games, etc.! Finally, background music in the common areas completes the nostalgic theme with favorite selections from the Big Band Era.

Location is integral to the theme environment and is the most important element contributing to the unique atmosphere of Eagles Nest at Platte Valley. The aviation themed home is located adjacent to Platte Valley Airpark, a privately owned and publicly used airport with general aviation flying and related activities which can be viewed and enjoyed on a daily basis. We have a large front porch area ideal for viewing aircraft departures and landings. We also have transportation available for those who wish to visit their neighboring aviation community. Or, residents may wish to stay in the comfort of their home and enjoy seasonal fly-in activities, social events and much more. The location enables you to become fully immersed in a familiar aviation lifestyle, surrounded by people who share that connection and who also seek to maintain a full life filled with purpose and fun.

Of particular note is that we are neighbors to the Vintage Aero Flying Museum located directly across the street from the Eagles Nest. The Museum, which features vintage WW-I and WW-II aircraft and memorabilia, provides another unique element to the total aviation theme environment. You will have endless opportunities to visit the Museum and participate in educational programs where you can share your wealth of aviation enthusiasm, knowledge and experience with Colorado youth and visitors from around the world.
